This is to cordially invite you to a webinar organized by Prof. Gregory Erhabor of the Asthma & Chest Care Foundation (ACCF) academy in collaboration with the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

For several years, the Asthma and Chest Care Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has been at the forefront of patient care and education of health professionals.

This webinar is designed for healthcare professionals (Physicians, Emergency Doctors, Physiotherapists, Respiratory Nurses, Resident Doctors, Paediatricians, General Medical Practitioners) and all interested in asthma management.

This course will discuss the best way to optimize available therapies for managing asthma. It will also introduce the role of emerging therapies and the use of biologics for severe asthma. Healthcare professionals and stakeholders in the management of Asthma will have the opportunity to ask questions on how they can best manage asthma.

About the Speaker/Convener  - Professor Gregory E. Erhabor

Professor Gregoy E. Erhabor is a Professor of Medicine at the Obafemi Awolowo University, a Consultant Chest Physician and the Head of the Chest Unit at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife.

He has been a Physician for over 40 years and an expert in Pulmonary medicine for over three decades now. He is a leading voice in Pulmonary medicine in Nigeria and internationally. He has also published over 170 articles and book  chapters on pulmonary medicine, including the diagnosis and treatment of Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis.

He has authored two books on respiratory medicine - Pulmonary Function Tests: Spirometry and Peak Flow in Clinical Practice & Asthma: Basic Principles and Management Strategy. He has also published several information booklets on asthma, tuberculosis and other chest diseases. He has been featured on major national television networks and newspapers on the prevention and management of lung diseases.

His research focuses on the  asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of interstitial lung disease.

He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP), American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and the Royal Colleges of Physicians in Edinburgh (FRCP Edin) and London (FRCP Lond). He is an executive committee member of the Council of Global Governors of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP).

He has served in various capacity and held numerous positions nationally and internationally including Advisory Board Member, Global Health Promotion on Community Health Promotion Strategies and Non-Communicable Diseases Control in Africa (2009), Chairman of the Advisory Board (Pfizer): The AFME Pneumococcal Adult (Vaccine), Vice-Chair of the Chronic Lung Disease division of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (IUATLD) based in Paris for three years. He is a member of the British Thoracic Society and the American Thoracic Society.

He developed eight (8) modules of the Respiratory Training Curriculum for Omron Healthcare Respiratory Academy Training of Trainee, Hoofddorp, Netherlands, and was the key resource person and facilitator. He adapted the same modules for Omron Healthcare Nigeria and facilitated the training natiowide.
